Our Key focus this term is KINDNESS:
Each day we will be doing activities to help us understand better what it means to be kind.

In maths we are focusing on Basic Facts as this is key to growth in all areas of maths. Our website this term will just be fill of fun things you can be doing to support this at home. We will be updating this all the time so please keep checking it. Also remember that all students were set up with Studyladder accounts and the set tasks are around basic facts support.

Here are some photos of what we have been doing this week.

End of Term 1

TERM ONE OVER AND OUT

Here are some photos from term one because photos speak a million words:

Over the holiday's:
  • Have a lovely time with your children!
  • Please buy your child a reading folder to bring back with them in term 2. If they do not have one children will not be allowed to take books home.
  • If you are looking for learning activities to do with your children over the break we will put a few things onto the Tūhura website. We do encourage the children to have a break from learning, however reading too or encouraging your child to read at home never hurts. We will also put on the website great educational websites, mindfulness activities and a list of growth mind set children's story books.
Just a reminder that the first Monday of term 2 is a Teacher Only Day.

See you all on Tuesday 4 May!

The last week!

With the holidays in sight we thought it would be a great opportunity to spend the last week reflecting on what we have done and achieved in Tūhura this term. To end the term on a high we are going to be doing lots of activities that focus on positive mind sets and positive classroom culture so the children can leave and come back to school feeling a sense of achievement and are excited for term 2.

Whats on this week:
  • Wednesday 14th - Enviro afternoon. The whole school will be doing gardening and cleaning up around the school after lunch and we welcome any parent help we can get.
  • Friday 19th - Assembly
  • Please remember to return all of your child's take home books to school. We will also be making it compulsory in term 2 for all students to have a reading folder or book bag or they will not be able to take home books from school. This is because we are finding that students are returning books damaged after being in their school bags.
Some options could be: Plastic closed folder
                                   Book bag

Please feel free to contact us via email or come in anytime. We would appreciate if you could please CC both teachers into any emails you send so we can both be on the same page.

Have a lovely weekend!
