Well that's a wrap for Week 6 and welcome to Spring!

It is a bit scary to think that when we get back to school we will only have a few weeks of term 3 left.

CHECKING IN:
We hope you are all doing ok in your bubbles.
Miss G, Lynn and Paula are all doing some days in at school over Level 3.
Just remember we are only an email away if you need to know anything or just want a chat.

LEARNING:
Learning over this time at home can be accessed via studyladder, seesaw and the website. We are uploading new tasks daily and marking the work as it comes in. Please remember to keep all your hard copy work as you will need to bring this back to school with you. Once back this will help up to know what work has been done and allow for groupings for the rest of the term.

CONNECTING:
We are still doing our daily 11am Zoom connects, these are a great way to connect and hang out with your classmates, so COME JOIN US!!!!
On Monday we are going to have a sharing time, so this is an opportunity for you to share something special with us.

PET SHOW:
Over this last week the whole school has been sent out Pet Show and Ag Club forms to fill out. Ag Club is only for those families that are new to the school or who have done it every year. Pet Show is for the whole school and everyone is to take part, so go onto the link that was sent out, via school apps, and choose what you are going to take part in. Pet Show is an awesome day and we look forward to seeing how you are going to be involved.

Not here to burst your bubble

Not here to burst your bubble.. ;)

Kia ora everyone,

We hope you are all having a nice time at home in your bubbles. We have absolutely loved seeing some of the activities and work your children have been doing at home through Seesaw. We have also loved seeing their faces at our 11am zoom connect meetings. If lockdown continues these will be held at 11am every day next week via zoom. The link for this is posted on the school app every day. On Monday next week at 11am, we will host a special zoom interview with Ella Greenslade about her Olympic success.

Schoolwork:

The work we have put up on Seesaw, Studyladder and on the Tūhura website is there to support your children's learning during the lockdown periods. We are very aware however that sometimes life gets in the way of doing these activities and we are putting no pressure on anyone to do them, just do what you can. We both believe there are huge learning opportunities to be gained in lockdown outside of just the activities we set, including doing things like baking or playing board games.

On the website, you will find lots more than just maths and literacy tasks. There are also lots of fun activities like Zumba, a Scratch challenge and links to many other cool educational websites for you to check out.

Here is the website link:

https://sites.google.com/view/tuhura2020/home

Your child's Scratch and Studyladder logins have been emailed to you and there is a login for your child's Seesaw in the learning packs we sent out.

We have missed hearing you child read, so please feel free to get them to themselves reading a book and upload onto seesaw.

Learning Packs:

Earlier in the week we put together learning packs for your children which contained lots of printed worksheets for them to complete. If you weren't able to pick these up from school they will have been posted out to you.

The priority activity to complete in those packs is the 'Telling Your Story' worksheet as we will use this information for the next part of our inquiry. Otherwise, just do what you can from them.

Any of the work your child complete's you can post onto Seesaw for us to see. PLEASE hold onto your learning packs and completed worksheets so students can bring them back to school after lockdown.

Keep checking the school app for any announcements and information about changes around different alert levels.

We cannot stress enough that we are here to support you. So if you need anything at all please just get in touch. We are just an email away.

Enjoy the weekend and let's see what next week brings.

Hope you are all staying safe in your bubble.....!

As we head into this uncertain time please remember that we are just a email away.

You would have received your login details for studyladder, scratch and website. We are updating these all the time so keep looking for new work.

We will send out more information about what next week is going to look like, as soon as we can.

Kia kaha

This close to a snow day!

The weather proved a major distraction for our Tūhurians this week. However, from this weather, they managed to produce lovely pieces of descriptive writing about the falling snow.

This week we have done some across school teaching for inquiry about storytelling through different creative mediums and will explore this further next week.

Next week:

  • Wednesday - Māori name gifted to Clarkville School 5.30 - 6.00pm
  • Thursday - Ski trip!!
  • Friday - Year 8 pizza, Assembly
We have enjoyed getting out to play lots of team games this week:
