Week six

We have had a busy week of Assessment, Coding with Hōpara and Art, we look forward to sharing this with you soon.

We seem to have Headlice in our team. Please check and treat your child if needed.

Next week:

Monday: 

Tuesday: Hōpara camp pie fundraiser, orders and payment to Michelle Berg in Hōpara between 8:30-9am (see more information below).

Friday: Culture time day

Togs need to be at school and named each day. Clothing needs to be named also, with the child name that is wearing it. We are having a few issues with children not knowing if a top is theirs. Please support us to make this a non-stressful time. 

PIE FUNDRAISER

A notice will have gone home this week for purchasing pies. Each pie is $8, and a percentage of every pie sold will be credited back to help with the cost of Hōpara camp 2022. If everyone could please return their forms and money on Tuesday 30th of November (Michelle will be in Hōpara until 9 am to collect these). The delivery date is the 10th December and will be available for collection after school.

We ask that all parents wear a mask when entering the school grounds and team spaces.

If your child is going home with another parent after school please can you email and let us know this. Because of the way the end of the day now works we need clear guidance around who is leaving with who.

Let’s celebrate our culture….! We want to end our year celebrating each of us and our culture.  Culture can be seen in so many ways like the characteristics and knowledge of a particular group of people, encompassing language, religion, cuisine, social habits, music and arts.  It’s about what makes us who we are.  This could be the food we eat, a tradition you do within our family,  your nationality.  We want to celebrate your story and who you are.  So we invite you to bring costumes, food, treasures that celebrate your culture and your families history. We will do this on Wednesday 8 December. We invite your child to bring things that celebrate who they and you are.  Please get in touch if you would like more information!

Week 5

  Week 5, look alive

It has been a busy week for our team this week, as we begin to do our end of year assessment on the children. The children have been reflecting on their progress over the year, which is a lovely process as they have all come such a long way. It was a shame we couldn't have pet day but we have had a few pets pop in from the Ag Club this week and we have had some lovely photos and information about students pets. We have also had some really great grow projects too, so thank you for those.

Week 4

Week 4

Please note: This post was meant to go out last Friday. In the excitement of the long weekend, we forgot to post it. Hope you all had a great weekend.

It's hard to believe that we are halfway through term 4 already. We ran a really successful bake sale this week, so thank you to the people who donated baking and who brought a gold coin donation. It all helps for year 4's future camp. 

We are doing a lot of work on devices this term so if your student has their own device please encourage them to bring it to school each day.

This week:

We are doing an art project at school this week the uses collage. We would really appreciate it if you were able to send your child to school with any old magazines (appropriate magazines only please) you have lying around your home that you don't mind being cut up. :)

Monday: Swimming is starting, please send your child with NAMED togs and towel each day. Please bring in any old magazines. 

Tuesday: Milo and Cookie fundraiser

Thursday: Ag flower projects due, Animal judging

Week 3

 

Week 3 Already....!

We have had a great week in Tūhura this week and the children have gelled together even more after our camp. 

We had some children in our team who were having bad dreams during the night, which is very normal for this age and so we decided to make dream catchers in class. The students will bring these home to hang at their window or beside their beds.

Bake sale:

Bake sale Tuesday at morning tea and lunch. All items will be between $1 and $3.

Yr 4/5 CAMP 2022 BAKE SALE - Please bring all baking to Hōpara on TUESDAY morning for our bake sale! It would be helpful if the baked items could be sold/wrapped individually.
