Welcome to Gala Week!
Hopefully the Alert Level changes and we can go ahead with our Gala.
Please put your name down for baking!
We have had a wonderful week in our team. We are getting our head around the way the team works and how to best work so that we can optimise our learning. Your child should be bring ing home their reading folder each day with a book and a notebook that has their spelling words in it. Please check this daily to help us develop this routine.
We have a trip on Tuesday 9 with Hōpara, we are going to Baynon Brake. In support of our work in the local community as an Enviroschool, Tūhura and Hōpara will enjoy a trip to Baynons Brake on Tuesday 9 March. The teams will be involved in activities including planting, bioblitzing, nest making and seed sourcing. Ecan staff will lead the activities and they will provide a sausage sizzle lunch.
There is no cost for this trip and we will travel by bus to and from Baynons Brake, leaving at 9.15am and returning by 2.50pm. Students will need some extra lunch, drink bottle and hat.
This is our plan for the day:
What is happening this week:
- Tuesday: trip to Baynons Break
- Wednesday: sushi - order through Kindo
- School Gala: 4-7pm (invite everyone you know)
Here are some photos from our learning to sew session:
It's called 'Fun with Mrs Caddie and Paula', and this will happen most Thursday afternoons. Our focus is going old school and teaching skills like sewing, knitting etc.
Today's inquiry session started with a wool game to make connections between each other.
Check out our Team Treaty.
We have worked really hard to develop a treaty that everyone agrees with and they have ownership off. This treaty will be at the fore front of everything we do in our team this year and all students will get a small copy of their own to keep safely with them, to support them to live this treaty in all areas of their school life.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Ngā mihi nui Holly, Paula and Lynn
