Week 2

Camp done and what a camp it was!

Thank you to all our amazing parents for helping to make this the best camp we have ever run in Tūhura.
We are so proud of every student as you all stepped up and pushed yourself in so many ways. We are super impressed!

Week One :)

Week One

It has been a great start to Term 4! We have spent some time settling back into routines and preparing your children for camp. On Wednesday we had school athletics day. This was a brilliant day and we were so proud of all our Tūhurians for getting out there and giving it a go. We also had some really great results in our team which we will celebrate in class. It was a shame that in this covid world you could not come and watch but we took lots of photos and there was a professional photographer taking photos as well.

As you know our Tūhura camp is NEXT WEEK on TUESDAY 26th and WEDNESDAY 27th. We are really looking to this camp as it is a fantastic growth opportunity for the children. We are aware that some children are feeling a wee bit anxious about going on camp and this is completely normal. We are talking lots about the fun activities and exciting things to look forward to at camp in class. You can also do this at home by looking at the programme below.

Just a few updates before camp next Tuesday.

It has been strange not seeing you all leading up to camp, so please get in touch if you want to know anything.

On Tuesday your child will need to have a backpack with a packed lunch, drink and sunhat. If the weather is not great we will not leave school until 12, as this is when we can use the camp facilities.

Timetable:

  • Be at school by 9am - we leave via cars at 9:30

  • Drop cars and gear at camp and walk down to the domain for games and morning tea

  • Walk back to camp, have lunch and set up bunks

  • Camp rotation programme starts (see programme below)

  • Leave camp by 2pm on Wednesday, back at school for the end of day pick up

Programme: If you want to know more about these go on the Woodend Christain Camp website.

Please be mindful that we are only away for two days and one night, so each child should only need a small bag of clothing as we need to be able to fit these into the cars.

Next Week:

  • Monday: Labour Day (no school)
  • Tuesday: Camp - leave 9:30am
  • Wednesday: Camp - return 2:15pm
  • Thursday:
  • Friday: Sausage Sizzle, Assembly

End of Term 3

This term has been full of ups and downs for all of our students. Please be reassured that even though lockdown took up a good chunk of their learning time, your children have copped remarkably well and we are working hard together to try and make sure the students do not feel stressed about their learning and are enjoying being at school.

All of your children have been assessed on their maths, literacy and values for the term. You can view these on our seesaw platform.

There have been many highs throughout this term and we are very much looking forward to Term 4 which holds lots of exciting events like athletics and Tūhura camp.

Over the holiday please:

  1. Relax and enjoy being with your family :)
  2. A reminder - next term is hat term. Please make sure your child has a hat.
  3. A reminder that school athletics is Wednesday the 20th of October (the first weekend back).
  4. Week 2 labour weekend, followed by Tūhura camp 26 - 27th of October. Please check out the Tūhura camp gear list:
  5. Camp Meeting: There will be a meeting for parents attending camp Monday 18th October (week 1, term 4) at 4pm in Tūhura. Other parents are welcome to attend this meeting also.

We wish you a lovely relaxing holiday. See you in Term 4!
