Kia ora everyone

Thank you all for your feedback to our survey around Tūhura camp. We have listened to your responses and from this we have changed our camp from a two night, three day to a one night, two day camp. This will be at Woodend Christian Camp from Tuesday 26 October to Wednesday 27 October.  The cost of camp this year is $102 per child, and there will be no charge for parent helpers, as we have absorbed this into the overall cost for each child. This needs to be paid NO LATER than Monday 18 October. Please pay to the Clarkville School account: 12-3240-0099920-00.

Our first step is to select parent helpers for the camp, as the parents selected will need to be police vetted, in accordance with our Health and Safety policy.

When selecting parents for school camps consideration will be given to the following:

  • The suitability of the applicant to meet the physical, emotional and learning needs of the students.

  • The compatibility of the applicant to work with school personnel.

  • Police vetting results showing no convictions or concerns.

  • The specialist skills of the applicant pertaining to the health and safety of children or the activities.

  • For overnight camps priority will be given to the parents of children who have professionally identified special needs which have been previously communicated to the school.

  • The availability of parents to attend the full duration of the camp.

  • The need to have a gender, culture and skill balance.

  • The willingness and ability of the applicant to undertake any of the tasks/activities required on camp.

The final decision around the selection of parents for camp will lie with the Principal.

If you have any questions regarding this notice please feel free to contact any one of us. If you are interested in being considered as a parent on our camp, please complete the jotform in the link provided in the school alert. As soon as we have made our final selection we will notify everyone.
